The world around us uses film, performance art and every possible form of music, dance or visual art in daily communication. The arts are used to entertain, push agendas, make a difference, add beauty to the world, or just shock us.
In the church, artists can sometimes find themselves limited to creating powerpoints and banners. And the fact that we have the greatest story in the universe to tellĀ – with unlimited creative ways to unpackage and express it- only makes it that much more frustrating.
The church has, in many ways, abdicated the use of the arts – often for very good reasons. But it remains a rich part of our Christian history and legacy.
In this teaching entitled Rich Legacy, Ancient Path Founder Patt Wadenpfuhl explores the history of the arts in the church – a history that has been forgotten.
A legacy waiting to be reclaimed.
