Meet 8 year old Trust Kweza. Trust lives in Kaliyeka Township and participates in Ancient Path’s Chifundo program for orphans and vulnerable children. Like the rest of the Chifundo kids, Trust attends school and is currently in the 4th grade. His favorite subjects are Math and English, his favorite sport is soccer (of course!) and his favorite food is sweet potatoes. As one of 8 children living in a cramped and overcrowded home, Trust has a stressful living situation. The Chifundo program not only puts extra food in his stomach, but provides care and gives him hope for the future. Trust dreams of being a soldier one day.
Chifundo Director, Moses Mtambo sends the following update for the month of August:
Children are coming in good numbers every program day. We are still teaching our children different activities based on their age and our time table. These activities include drawing, coloring, learning new songs and Bible verses, playing with educational toys, and photography classes – just to mention a few. And always some play time for soccer, netball, jumping rope and other games.
Last month we visited three children, Ian Sankhani, Yamikani Masulani, and Edwared Phiri. – to find out how they are doing, physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. We found them doing well at home. The guardians have recommended the Chifundo project as one the greatest programs that has contributed much to the transformation of their children. They have extended special appreciation to the entire staff of Ancient Path and all of the partners.
Although we are facing many challenges, we thank God that He is on our side. Our request is that you should continue praying for us, that the grace of God should continue to embrace the Chifundo project all the time. Mulungu akudalitseni!
It costs 53 cents to feed one child a hot, nutritious meal so every dollar helps! 100% of every contribution to the Chifundo program goes directly to the children. To donate, click here
