The heavy rains and flooding in Malawi these past few months have had catastrophic and far-reaching effects on the nation. Our friends in Kaliyeka Township were hit with heavy storms and rains, but nothing compared to devastation experienced in the southern regions. However, now the Kaliyeka community is feeling the impact of skyrocketing maize prices and Director Moses Mtambo has just written to say that hunger has come to the households where our Chifundo Kids live.
It’s something we can and will do something about. Ancient Path will immediately wire funds to purchase a 50kg bag of maize for each household – that’s 120 households representing 200 Chifundo Kids. Taking into consideration fluctuating prices and exchange rates, we have budgeted $15 per bag. Moses and his team already have a distribution plan in place and are working to secure the maize.
If you would like to help the Chifundo Kids and their guardians by buying a bag of maize, or several, you can donate online or send a check to:

Thank you! We’ll keep you posted and let you know when the Chifundo team has distributed the maize. Please remember to pray for Malawi, for the government and leaders, for those that are now homeless and have lost loved ones, and for all those affected the floods. Mulungu akudalitseni!
