Chifundo Director, Pastor Moses Mtambo and his team have been busier than ever this past month. Feeding and caring for 200 children is a daunting task under any circumstances. During the Malawi rainy season, with no facility to shelter this many kids, it becomes nearly impossible. Yet Moses reports that the children keep coming. He writes:
The children’s attendance is so impressive every program day! We have seen children coming in high numbers to attend the program even when it’s raining outside; we have seen their commitment to learn new things in their lives. Our activities have been improved very much. Previously, we had a few activities e.g. jumping ropes, dancing, football and netball, etc. But since the visitation of AP team from the US, we have been able to introduce to new activities as well – such as a singing group, photography classes and tutoring classes using flannel graph educational materials.
However, during the rains, it is very difficult to run activities and especially to cook for this many children. Please pray for our team members – for their strength and encouragement – and for the safety of all the children.
We continue to visit the children in their homes and recently visited six of the children, including young Christopher Likagwa, who we found suffering a a bad head rash. Also, please pray for 15 year old George Tito who broke his arm playing soccer at our Chifundo program. Pray for a fast recovery so that he will be ready to write for his primary school certificate in a few months.
While the team faces many challenges during the rains , we are grateful for new developments that will soon help us meet these challenges. Firstly, thanks to Moses and Blessings Mtambo, Ancient Path has just received official incorporation papers in Malawi, an important step for our next phase of development. We have found property within Kaliyeka Township where we can build a Chifundo facility and, thanks to a generous contributor, we now have the funds to purchase land. Please pray for Moses and his team, the children and their guardians and for all those involved in program development in Malawi and here in the US. We’ll keep you updated on the pending land purchase and building project as we move forward!
100% of all funds contributed to our Chifundo program are spent directly on the children in-country. To make an online donation to Chifundo click here and specify Chifundo Program. If you would like to donate by check, make it out to Ancient Path, specify Chifundo Program on the memo line and send it to us at:

The guardians of the kids have remarked that the Chifundo project is one the greatest programs that has contributed much in the transformation of their children. They have asked me to send their special appreciation to the entire staff, partners and supporters of Ancient Path!
