Email from Madagascar: Tana News & Cyclone hits Mikea region

mikea-boy

We have just received an email from our friends and partners in the city of Antananarivo, MadagascarĀ  – Cathy & Ibrahim Ravoahangy. They report on the situation in Tana and report that a cyclone has hit the region where our partners, Jonoro & Hanitra Tefy Emmanuel work among the Mikea tribe. Please continue to pray for the people of this nation.

“It was a joy for us to receive your mail and to know that in this hard times you are praying for us. The violence in our country was unbelievable. I has never seen this in my life. More than hundred people are killed and most of them burnt in the shops they have robbed. They are busy to take rice in sacks, oil, food…and don’t mind what happen to them untill they are prisoners of the flames, but it is too late to escape. Many commercial centers are burnt, and at this time the prices of basic food (rice, oil, meat, etc…) have increased and it is more and more difficult to find these foods.
It was a revolt of hunger.

For the Chifundo Kids, we have increased the portion we give to them, because their parents did not have enough money to buy food for them, as the prices are doubled. As a result of this demonstration, many people has lost their jobs.

This morning, no teacher is coming to help because it’s difficult to find bus for transportation and they must walk. We have more than 60 kids coming and they are happy to hear the Gospel and eat some bread.

In the region of Morondava and Morombe (Mikea), there was a cyclone and untill now I didn’t have a report from the Mikea region. I know only that Morondava was devasted at 90 %.

I think that we are living the last time, and Christ will come soon.

Please pray for us!

With Love from all of us.

Cathy & Ibrahim
