From July 14th – 18th, Ancient Path will partner with Cornerstone of Hope, Without Words Movement and Family Ministry Center to host a grief camp for inner city kids on the FMC campus.
Camp Heroes is an inner city day camp for children ages 8-17 who have experienced the loss of a parent, caregiver or family member . This year’s theme is Grief Around the World .
While Cornerstone of Hope counselors and volunteers provide traditional, fun camp activities along with special grief remembrance interventions, Ancient Path and WWM will help the kids create their own mini-production featuring dance, drumming, stomp and story-telling. We’ll splatter-paint wooden pallets to create a set and any other messy thing we can think of. So if you like to bang on stuff, stomp, clap, dance, paint, makes messes and love kids, we can definitely use your help! For more information or to volunteer for Camp Heroes, please email us at info@ancientpath.com for more information.
Cornerstone of Hope will host 180 campers this summer at three different venues. These camps bring children and teens together and help them know they are not alone in their grief, providing a safe place where they can express their emotions of losing a loved one. All COH camps are offered at no cost to the families. If you would like to donate to Cornerstone’s 2014 Camp Campaign to support grieving teens and children click here.
