On a recent Saturday afternoon in Kaliyeka Township, the children in our Ancient Path Kids program were surprised with an extra-special gift. After enjoying their usual hot, nutritious meal, they gathered in the pavilion and could hardly contain their excitement as the long metal tables were loaded up with piles of colorful clothing. One by one the girls and boys came forward to receive a beautifully handcrafted dress or a pair of colorful shorts – all made with love and skill by the women of Saint Clarence Parish in North Olmsted, Ohio. These women, who partner with an organization called Little Dresses for Africa, worked for months to create over 200 unique items of clothing for our children – and the kids loved them (especially the pockets!)
Thank you to every woman at St Clarence Parish who gave of her time and talents to give these gifts of love and beauty! And thank you to the hard-working and faithful women here in Kaliyeka who spend every Saturday cooking over a hot fire to feed 200 children. These kids are precious in God’s sight – and so are each one of you!
