Usually when February rolls around, we enjoy a Chinese New Year Event with local adoptive families. This year we’ve decided to expand this event beyond Chinese New Year to celebrate the children around the world who so enrich our lives – with A Chifundo Gathering.
This event is for families who have adopted domestically or internationally, (or are in the process of adopting), for families who care for children through foster care, and for all those who have touched the lives of the orphans and vulnerable children in our Chifundo program over the years.
There will be food, fun, shared experiences, a silent auction, a gallery of African children’s photography for sale – photos of life in their villages taken by the children themselves, such as the photo on the top of this page. And there will be updates on the children so many of you have helped across the world.
We’re still in the planning stages and more information will be available soon, but save the date – February 27th, 2011 – and plan to join us for our first Chifundo Gathering!
