We’re Moving to the City!

This fall, Ancient Path is moving our recording studio/office to the campus of Family Ministry Center  – 3389 Fulton Road in Cleveland. It’s a move we’re excited about for many reasons!

Beauty
The campus itself is beautiful. Previously owned by a catholic church called Blessed Sacrament, it was purchased by Bay Presbyterian Church in 2010 for the purpose of creating a place in the city for various churches, non-profits and businesses to gather, work and collaborate. Executive Director Julie Busch Jones and her team of volunteers have been hard at work renovating the various buildings – including the community house and stunning cathedral where AP participated in an artists’ retreat this past July.

Shared Values
FMC places a strong emphasis on sharing life together in community, prayer and authentic real-world faith. There is also a strong emphasis on the arts/artists and using the arts to help children at risk, beautify the community, address social justice issues, communicate and worship. Also home to the studio of  Without Words Movement, a dance company that exists to target human trafficking and the global sex trade, it is no coincidence that FMC became a collection center for Michelle Knight, Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and her six-year-old daughter after their dramatic release from ten years of captivity – just a few blocks away. Neighbors came to FMC for weeks just to talk, to express their gratitude and pray, and to give generously to these young women and their families.

Cultural Diversity
The culturally diverse Clark-Fulton neighborhood will provide local opportunities and expressions for the Chifundo’s Basket program in our own city – a summer arts camp, for instance. Or after-school arts training or programs, such as the children’s photography project that has worked so well in Malawi. We look forward to making new young friends locally as well as overseas!

Collaboration
We also look forward to working with more local artists and partnering with other non-profit organizations and ministries. And with a more central location, we will be able to make our recording studio available to city musicians who are looking for an affordable yet quality way to record their projects.

This is the short list of why we’re excited for this move to FMC!   But we also remain grateful to past partners who have housed us over the years – WorldView Community Church, The Vitamix Corporation and Christian Community School.

We’ve quoted him many times in the past and will undoubtedly quote him many times in the future – but we still agree with the words of Swedish statesman Dag Hammarskjöld:

For all that has been, Thank you.
For all that is to come,  Yes!
