Back in November we asked for people to give a Christmas feast to the children in our Chifundo Program in Kalieka Township, Malawi. For just $10 per child they could have a joyous Christmas Day meal and a toy. We were hoping to feed 70 children and some of their guardians, but the day exceeded all of our expectations. Even the Chief of the community attended which is quite an honor for these children. Chifundo Director, Moses Mtambo secured a wonderful facility for the children to meet in on this special day so they were not scattered all over the grass in their normal meeting place. Ancient Path was also able to send Christmas gifts to the 6 members of the hardworking Chifundo leadership team along with a letter thanking them for their dedication and obvious loving care for the children of Kalieka. CHIFUNDO PROGRAM 2010 CHRISTMAS REPORT
I would like to thank God who gives us this wonderful grace to be called co-workers with Him in his glorious eternity kingdom. It is my humble duty to submit this great Christmas party report to the Ancient Path board of directors. Basically what can I say is that, we had a wonderful and extraordinary Christmas party than ever before in the history of Kalieka community.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance was extremely very good. The whole team and Chifundo children were present including seventy seven children, Twenty seven guardians, a chief from the community and one pastor a representative from One Hope Ministry; the total number acceded up to one hundred and thirty three.
ACTIVITIES
The Director Pastor Mtambo opened the party with a word of prayer; which followed by welcome remarks from the same Pastor. Thereafter, Tenson Khoma a teacher to the kids assumed the floor to demonstrate what Chifundo kids have been doing in the program. Among of the activities which were demonstrated where dancing, recitation of verses, story telling.
SPEECHES
The Director
Pastor Mtambo read the word from the Holy Scriptures from the book of Philippians 1:6 which say, “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ”. The Pastor challenged the audience that all things are possible with God if we remain united in Him. He also reminded the assembly that there is no development in envy, back biting, and conflicts etc. He emphasized the goal of Ancient Path through the Chifundo program that is to reach out to orphans and vulnerable children in the way of the agape love of God and develop their spiritual, psychology, and physical lives through the word of God. And lastly, He also thanked the chief to participate in the function and, for allowing Chifundo project to operate in his community without hindrances. At the conclusion, He gave special salute to the guardians who remain cooperative since the program began.
The Chief
The Chief has recommended the project in his community; and he has pointed out that Chifundo program is exceptional from any other orphans projects that have been operating in his community. He rebuked other projects in his area that are cheating and using orphans and vulnerable children for their own benefits. He concluded his speech by requesting the Chifundo Director to ask the Ancient Path team to extend its program to the other part of his community.
The Guardian
One guardian spoke on behalf of every guardian that the Chifundo program has totally transformed their children and families. She also asked the Director to extend their gratitude to the entire Ancient Path Directors and all partners, individuals and organizations who are faithfully committed to support this program that the good Lord should bless them abundantly in their families, businesses, companies. She also pointed out that there are more kids who are not benefiting from this program, her wishes is that the Chifundo program should register more children in the program so that crime problems should be reduced in the community.
A representative from One Hope Ministry
Pastor Holed a representative from One Hope Ministry was also a special guest to the party. One Hope Ministry is also dealing with the issues of children; their vision is to reach every child with the word of God. He was extremely impressed for what Chifundo program is doing and encouraged the Chifundo team to continue the good work; he also encouraged every guardian to remain faithful and united with Chifundo project. There after he donated three beautiful foot balls and reading materials for Chifundo children.
Christmas Gifts
The chief was on the fall front to present the Christmas gifts to the kids; the boys each received beautiful car toys and the girls received beautiful dolls.
Christmas party
We want to thank God that we had enough food for every person who came to this party. There was enough Rice, Chicken, Nsima, Meat, and drinks were available for everyone. After eating together there was wonderful music to dance to!
CONCLUSION
I just want to thank the Ancient Path team, all partners, individuals, and organizations to make this Christmas party extremely extraordinary in our community. I also thank the Kalieka Chifundo team for their hard work over for several days buying, cooking, and serving people.
